Apartheid Free Dublin
In 2018, Dublin City Council passed two resolutions against the Israeli Apartheid regime. A motion endorsing boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) on Israel, and another urging the Irish Government to expel Israel's ambassador.
In the same year, the Irish government put forward "The Occupied Territories Bill" that would ban and criminalize "trade and economic support for illegal settlements in territories deemed occupied under international law". The bill has yet to be passed having been blocked by Simon Coveney & Leon Varadkar of the Fine Gael government, amid political pressure from America and the EU.
In May 2021, Ireland became the first EU country to recognise the "de facto annexation" of Palestinian land, but is still trading with settlements that are illegal under international law.
In 2023 Oslo, Barcelona, Belém, Liege & Verviers cut ties with the Apartheid Regime.
We are calling for Dublin to follow.
End complicity & support human rights.
